Emergency Response System
Welcome to Community Care Haliburton County Emergency
This service is available to seniors and adults with disabilities and/or illnesses and their caregivers.
The Emergency Response System is a community support service, which provides help in an emergency, 24 hours a day, 52 weeks a year. This system assists the client in maintaining an independent lifestyle or convalescing at home.
The Emergency Response System is essential for seniors who live alone or need to quickly contact help for medical reasons, as well as people who are handicapped and trying to maintain their independent lifestyle. It provides a complete sense of independence.
One of the units is placed in a client's home and connected to their phone line. This base unit is connected by the telephone lines to a 24-hour Monitoring Centre. Clients also receive a transmitter button, which can be worn around their neck or around their wrist. When this button is pressed, the base unit immediately signals the Monitoring Centre. Here, the staff moves into action, alerting help immediately and quickly. This transmitter button is the solution to all kinds of problems facing people living alone.
This is an important service, one, which could save a life.
