About Us

Vision: Community Care Haliburton County is a pre-eminent front runner and model in Haliburton County in identifying and providing a continuum of community support services to clients, at their place of residence, utilizing the valuable team of volunteers and staff while being financially sound and working with other agencies through networking and sharing resources.

Community Care volunteers have been serving Haliburton County for over 26 years.

Volunteers are active in all aspects of Community Care programs.

Service specific volunteers, office volunteers, board & committee member volunteers, actively support seniors and adults with disabilities and/or illnesses and their caregivers throughout Haliburton County.

Our Volunteers are here to help you.

"A caring heart is at the centre of everything we do."

  • Last year 169 Community Care Volunteers gave a total of 18,379 hours to provide service to seniors and adults with disabilities and/or illnesses in Haliburton County.
  • Community Care Volunteers installed, monitored and maintained 127 Emergency Response Units.
  • Community Care Brokered Workers provided 129 clients with Home Help and Home Maintenance.
  • Community Care volunteers provided 32 clients with a Friendly Visitor.
  • Volunteers delivered 7728 hot and frozen Meals on Wheels.
  • Volunteer drivers provided a total of 5,158 one-way trips to appointments in and out of Haliburton County. Community Care subsidizes medical appointments only.
  • Diner's Club or Wheels to Meals had an attendance total of 1,341 over the 6 locations.
  • Volunteers provided 130 In-Home Respite Visits.
  • Volunteers provided 11 clients with 1,274 telephone security checks.
